Eligibility Criteria for SETA Bursaries

SETA (Sector Education and Training Authorities) bursaries offer financial support to deserving students based on academic performance and qualifications. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Invite-Based Bursaries: SETA bursaries are typically offered to students based on invitations. However, if you are not invited, you may still apply directly through SETA, as UNISA does not manage the application process.
  • Age and Citizenship Requirements: South African citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 are eligible to apply.
  • Unemployed Students: Preference is given to unemployed students. However, certain SETA bursaries, like SASSETA and Services SETA, may also support employed students.
  • Academic Performance: Students must have achieved an average of at least 50% in their previous academic year of study.

Note: Different SETA organizations may have varying requirements. Visit their respective websites for more detailed information.
