RCL Foods is offering exciting apprenticeship opportunities for unemployed graduates to join their Fitter & Turner programme in Krugersdorp, Gauteng. About the Apprenticeship:
As an apprentice, you’ll be part of RCL Foods’ Baking Division, working under the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman. This apprenticeship offers comprehensive training, including:
- Institutionalised training at an Industrial Training Centre (approx. 20 weeks)
- On-the-job training across various factory sections (approx. 29 weeks)
- Mini Trade Test after each year to assess progress
- Final Trade Test to earn a nationally recognised qualification
Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Minimum N3 qualification (N4 – N6 preferred)
- Relevant subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory, Mechanical Technology, and more
- Formal Institutionalised Training Certificate
- Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental standards
- Computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
- Valid EB / Code 8 Driver’s License
Additional Skills and Availability:
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and be on standby for callouts
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
- Strong troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular equipment inspections to prevent breakdowns
- Follow maintenance processes and accurately complete work orders
- Inspect and repair machinery, including motors, belts, and bearings
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing filters
