About the Apprenticeship:

As an apprentice, you’ll be part of RCL Foods’ Baking Division, working under the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman. This apprenticeship offers comprehensive training, including:

  • Institutionalised training at an Industrial Training Centre (approx. 20 weeks)
  • On-the-job training across various factory sections (approx. 29 weeks)
  • Mini Trade Test after each year to assess progress
  • Final Trade Test to earn a nationally recognised qualification

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Minimum N3 qualification (N4 – N6 preferred)
  • Relevant subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory, Mechanical Technology, and more
  • Formal Institutionalised Training Certificate
  • Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental standards
  • Computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
  • Valid EB / Code 8 Driver’s License

Additional Skills and Availability:

  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and be on standby for callouts
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Strong troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular equipment inspections to prevent breakdowns
  • Follow maintenance processes and accurately complete work orders
  • Inspect and repair machinery, including motors, belts, and bearings
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing filters
