Necsa Invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their 2025–2027 Apprenticeship Programme Vacancies (X20+ Posts). The closing date for applications is 17 April 2025.

Are you between 18 and 35 years old and looking for a hands-on career that can kick-start your future? Necsa Learning Academy (NLA) is giving young South Africans a golden chance to be part of their exciting 3-year Apprenticeship Training Programme starting in 2025. If you’re passionate about working with tools, machines, or electricity and want to learn real technical skills, this might be your big break!

What is Necsa Offering?

Necsa Learning Academy is a well-known and approved training provider in South Africa. They focus on building professional and technical skills that actually help people get jobs. For 2025–2027, they are offering full apprenticeship training in the following trades:

  • Boilermaker
  • Electrician
  • Fitter & Turner
  • Welder
  • Instrumentation
  • Mechanical Fitter
  • Toolmaker
  • Millwright
  • Metal Machinist

Where Can You Apply From?

Only applicants from the following provinces will be considered:

  • Eastern Cape
  • Free State
  • KwaZulu-Natal
  • Limpopo
  • Mpumalanga
  • Northern Cape
  • North West

Make sure you use the right reference number when applying (explained further below), or your application will not be looked at.

Who Can Apply? (Minimum Requirements)

You can apply if you have any one of these:

  • Grade 12 (with Maths and Science)
  • N2 to N6 certificate (with four subjects including the relevant trade theory)
  • Technical Matric (with Maths, Science, and trade theory)
  • NCV Level 3/4 in Engineering (with 7 subjects, including trade theory)

Also, you must:

  • Be able to work in a team
  • Be technically skilled or willing to learn
  • Be medically fit and pass background checks
  • Be ready for interviews and technical tests

Only South African citizens can apply.

People with disabilities are encouraged to apply too.

How Does It Work?

  • You’ll be trained for three years under section 18.2 of the Skills Development Act
  • You’ll get both classroom learning and on-the-job training
  • Training will be provided by Necsa or one of its partners
  • Accommodation will be provided during training
  • You’ll also receive a monthly stipend (a small salary) during your apprenticeship

If you applied last year (2024) and didn’t get in, you can apply again!

Note: If you’ve already done a funded apprenticeship with NSF, this opportunity is not for you.
